Bankruptcy Education

Filing for bankruptcy is a serious decision with severe consequences. FSC helps consumers understand both the benefits and challenges of declaring bankruptcy.

For those about to emerge from bankruptcy, FSC can help consumers make the most of this fresh start by teaching you how to use credit wisely and keep your finances in order moving forward.

Any individual who plans to file for bankruptcy is required to complete a pre-filing counseling session given by a credit counseling agency approved by the U.S. Department of Justice. Additionally, potential filers are required to take part in an approved follow-up personal financial education course before his/her debts can be discharged. FSC is approved by the United States Trustees to issue certificates for Pre-filing Credit Counseling and Pre-discharge Education in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code.
