Dental Health Services

FSC and its community partners — Palmetto Health, Palmetto Healthy Start, United Way of the Midlands and DHEC — operate four dental programs for a variety of groups within the community.

The Children’s Dental Clinic

The Children's Dental Clinic is a volunteer service for children within Richland and Lexington Counties. The clinic operates during the school year and the first appointment must be made by the school nurse.

Only children meeting the following criteria are eligible for the program:

Enrolled in public school
Eligible for free or reduced lunch
Cannot have a Medicaid
Cannot have dental insurance

The Adult Dental Clinic

The Adult Dental Clinic serves low-income adults (at least 21 years old) who live in Richland or Lexington County. Adults must have no dental insurance. Adults seeking service must be able to provide proof of income need, referral paper work, and SC photo ID with a Richland or Lexington County address (in which you reside).

The Pregnancy Periodontal Clinic

The Pregnancy Periodontal Clinic is for pregnant women in Richland County. To qualify for the service, clients must:

Be pregnant and be a client of record at 1801 OB/GYN Clinic
Have a dental screening to be diagnosed with periodontal disease
