Who the Children Are
They are children in need of a loving, permanent family. And they are waiting. Often referred to as "hard to place," the children for whom we seek homes are not infants, but older - usually ten to seventeen. Some have special physical, emotional or mental health needs. Others have several brothers and sisters and want to stay together. Often these children have been moved from place to place with no control over what happens to them. They are the children for whom no families have been found despite previous efforts. These children are in the foster care system and need permanent adoptive homes. What these youngsters need is a permanent family whose strength matches their needs - not the perfect family, but the family best equipped to give unconditional love, hope and security.
What to Expect
The unique needs of our waiting children are challenging. With great care and honesty we prepare adoptive parents and children with straightforward information which allows good decisions about adoption to be made. The personalized service of the skilled staff at Children Unlimited assists children and parents throughout the adoption process. The experience and commitment of Children Unlimited personnel continues to be available after the legal adoption is completed. All this lets the child and parent know they are not alone and that there is help available when problems arise. At Children Unlimited people really do care. Our dedication and the support of our patrons have ended the wait for many children.
What it Takes
No fees are charged to families for our recruitment and supportive services. Funding comes from a variety of sources including service contracts with referring agencies, businesses, groups, and individuals. We need your support, too.
In accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,the Multiethnic Placement Act of 1994 and Section 1808 of the Small Business Job Protection Act of 1996, 42 U.S.C 622(b)(9), 671(a)(18), 674(d) and 1996b, Children Unlimited of FSC is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color and/or national origin when making foster care or adoption placement decision.

Charity (Female - DOB: 8/6/98)
Meet Hanna Montana’s biggest fan! When she’s not tuned in to see what Hanna Montana will do next, Charity enjoys riding her bicycle and traveling to different places. She shows that she has a talent for singing and dancing by participating in her church choir and praise team. When she’s not doing the above, this multi-talented girl can be found in her bedroom writing short stories. Charity has a love for animals, especially cats, and plans to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
Charity will do well with a family that will provide her with love, encouragement, and stability. Her family will need to be able to nurture her talents and help her to excel in all her endeavors. Charity’s family will need to respect the bond she has with her current foster family and allow them to remain a part of her life. Most importantly, her family will need to be able to fully understand the commitment of adoption, and provide Charity with unconditional love as she transitions into permanency.

Howard "Reese" (Male - DOB: 12/25/00)
Reese is a very sweet boy who loves to entertain people with his collection of movies and dinosaurs. He makes friends easily and is well-liked by adults. He likes to watch Spong Bob, Spiderman and wrestling and has collected the character's figurines. Reese also enjoys playing board games, skateboarding and football. When he grows up, he wants to be a chef. Some of his favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, pepperoni pizza, hamburgers and hotdogs.
Reese will do well with a family that can be strong advocates for him in the school system, and who will be patient with him as he works towards his academic success. He is legally free for adoption.

Thomas (Male - DOB: 3/5/94)
Thomas is an intelligent young man who likes to stimulate his mind by reading “Mana” magazines and other books of interest. Although he is not beyond speaking his mind, he is just as often soft-spoken, courteous and eager to share his knowledge with interested listeners. Thomas enjoys swimming, riding his bike, skateboarding and rollerblading; he also likes taking things apart to see how they work.
Thomas needs encouragement with academics, but has done exceptionally well in math, which afforded him a medal which he proudly displays; he is also involved in ROTC. He has been described as a quick learner, and a good problem-solver, both skills which are important with adjusting to a new family and new environment.
Thomas will do well with a family that is willing to promote structure, patience and words of encouragement. He is legally free for adoption.

Adriana "Moesha" and Makala (Female & Female - DOB:4/26/96 & 7/14/99)
Wait until you meet these two adorable sisters Adriana and Makala! Adriana likes to be called “Moesha”. She is a very active and spontaneous young lady. She enjoys swimming, playing basketball and running; she would like to run on a track team. Adriana is a leader with her peers and easily shares her opinion and feeling with others. Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese and chocolate chip pizza. She is an average student; her favorite classes are science and math.
Makala is a sweet and outgoing young lady who loves to talk with her peers and adults. She tends to be a leader with her peers and loves to spend one on one time with adults that care about her. She enjoys activities in water, playing board games, basketball and soccer; she has been involved with cheerleading and step teams. She likes to do word searches and gymnastics. Makala states that “she loves to eat”! Her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese and doughnut pizza. She is an average student at school; she enjoys reading and learning new things.
These two sisters are very attached to one another. They would do well in a “forever family” that has a structured lifestyle.

"Hi! My name is Miguel and basketball is my game. I am not able to speak a lot of words but I can let you know what I need or how I feel. I love to play with balloons and trucks. At times I may need extra help with getting ready inthe morning."
Miguel is a loving child that requires a great deal of attention due to his disabilities and developmental delays. He bonds well with those who show him attention and are patient with him. He will do well with a loving two parent family as the youngest child. He is legally free for adoption.

Wait until you meet this handsome young man! Carey is very quiet and thoughtful. He enjoys swimming, skateboarding, playing basketball, football and riding his bicycle. He likes to color and draw and is proud of his accomplishments. He enjoys watching wrestling and is interested in one day becoming a wrestler. His favorite foods are hamburgers, tacos, and french fries. Carey likes school and being the center of attention; he flourishes with praise and is eager to please.
Carey needs the structure of a self-contained classroom to succeed in middle school. He needs a family who would provide him with a lot of love, structure, patience and encouragement. Carey would do best placed in a family as the only child or youngest child.

Wait until you meet this handsome young man with a beautiful smile. He is very energetic and adventurous. Michael enjoys all sports and would like to someday be a professional baseball player. He enjoys the outdoors and likes to go camping in the woods; he has been a part of the Boy Scouts and would like to join again. Michael loves to eat and can not think of a food that he does not enjoy. Michael likes a small setting when it comes to school; he requires a lot of encouragement when it involves participating and completing class work.

Sheriesh is an intelligent young lady with a great personality. She has a love for food and fashion. Sheriesh cannot leave the house without properly accessorizing her outfit. She has a positive attitude, great sense of humor, and a love for creative writing. She expresses her feelings through stories and poems. Sheriesh feels that she has tough skin and is able to take on any challenge she encounters due to her life experiences. All the things she has experienced in life have helped her to grow into a wise young lady.

This beautiful sibling group is ready to become an addition to your family! This brother and sister duo are all about sticking together and they are looking to you to help make their family portrait complete. These two have a bond that they need to see supported and nurtured in a two-parent home, and they are open to having other siblings as well.
